BURLESON, Texas (April 13, 2017)- Austin Kaszuba of Burleson, Texas, returned to Homestead-Miami Speedway with the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda April 8-9, capturing the best podium finish of his F4 U.S. career. Under new team Texas Pride Trailers/ Austin Kaszuba Racing, the young Texan capped-of the season opener with a second-place podium finish.

“Overall it was a great weekend,” Kaszuba said. “I am happy with the results, but I am more pleased with the progression and momentum we were able to build as a team throughout the past three days. We didn’t have the best pace in practice but we were continually making gains and improving the car. With just recently starting Austin Kaszuba Racing powered by our sponsor Texas Pride Trailers, we had very little testing during the off-season. The learning curve with the set-up had to be very quick.”

A penalty was issued to the driver with the fastest lap time in Race 2, permitting Kaszuba to start on pole for the final race. Kaszuba lost his battle to Timo Reger of Houston, Texas, conceding his first-place position, but was able to hold-off competitors in the back of the field trying to overtake him in the final laps.

Throughout the weekend Kaszuba continued to progress. Showing good pace, the blue and red Texas Pride No. 27 pilot captured seventh and eighth place during the first half of the debut event.

“Most of the second race was run under caution, which is a shame because we had a great car and there just wasn’t much time to work with as far as moving forward through the field,” said Kaszuba who would clinch the second fastest race lap. “The bright side to it all was that we were able to click off a quick lap for a promising starting position in Race 3.”

Kaszuba qualified 12th in the 33-car field, but would move forward to start 10th in Race 1 after penalties were imposed on drivers ahead in the field.

With the first Round of F4 U.S. Championship under the young team’s belt, Austin Kaszuba Racing along with parter Texas Pride Trailers will keep its momentum going onto the next round of racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway June 8-11.
